Bought Beautifully: Fashion With Impact

It is no surprise that when Bought Beautifully reached out to me to participate in the #fashionwithimpact Fashion Week I speedily obliged. As I’ve expressed before, harmonizing faith and fashion is what I strive for here on SWANKYCYN.

Bought Beautifully was born out of a desire to live a life that is holy and pleasing to God. Every Bought Beautifully product promotes safe working conditions, fair wages, an ethical supply chain, and the practice of wise stewardship. Their mission is to enrich lives, restore hope, empower people, and positively impact the world with God’s love.

I am eternally grateful and consider it a privilege for me to join Bought Beautifully in their hope to provide a place where people can use their purchases to impact the world with God’s love. To be able to serve Him and others via SWANKYCYN is when I feel most purposeful. This experience has also opened my eyes into investing in pieces that give me an additional opportunity to give back.

On Monday this Fashion Week for a cause kicked off, with a train of bloggers (9 total) posting on their social media and blog on different days. They’ve shared their BB style and the needs being met by each product. Take a look at the previous participant, Megan Burn of SHE DOES JUSTICE, and the picks she shared on her instagram.

Below is a rundown on how I styled my 3 personally picked items. You know one of them had to be shoes! 😉

Bought Beautifully African Soles Papi sandals SWANKYCYN Swanky Cyn Bought Beautifully African Soles Papi sandals SWANKYCYN Swanky Cyn

All profits from the sale of these Papi’s sandals by African Soles go directly to Uganda to help refugee woman learn how to start a new business. As a result they are able to support themselves and their children. The Papi’s sandals are beaded and handmade with leather in Kenya. It is named in honor of African Soles’ dear friend in Mombasa, Kenya who was instrumental in the start up of AS. Papi passed away in 2013 of Pancreatic Cancer and the sunflower was Papi’s favorite flower.

These sandals impressed me in both quality and comfort. They are extremely sturdy yet comfortable, and as you can see, they also look super cute on! They’re currently sold out but you can sign up to get notified when they’re back in stock. Simply click on the “Papi’s sandals” link above.

Bought Beautifully Amahoro Burundi African clutch SWANKYCYN Swanky Cyn

Bought Beautifully Amahoro Burundi African clutch SWANKYCYN Swanky Cyn

Amahoro Burundi’s Fiery Feathers African Print Clutch is sewn by women in Burundi who have learned the craft as a way to feed and educate their children. While living in one of the poorest nations in the world, Amahoro provides a safe environment in which to work, find peace, fellowship, and discover the love of God. This handbag made from African Batik and Kitenga fabrics speaks volumes about the empowered artisans and the joy they feel when they make something beautiful.

I definitely sensed that when I rocked it. It felt really good to carry something so fashionable and on trend, yet impactful! ❤ It reminds me of an Alexander McQueen clutch with the awesome print and fashion forward, timeless shape. As they describe it, this handbag is “compact but roomy”: the perfect clutch size as I was able to fit my big wallet and iPhone Plus in it.

Bought Beautifully Haitian exfoliating soap SWANKYCYN Swanky Cyn Bought Beautifully Haitian exfoliating soap SWANKYCYN Swanky Cyn

This coffee sack exfoliating soap by Haitian Artisans for Peace International (HAPI) provides women in Haiti with income to support their families and send their children to school. HAPI is a faith-based ministry whose mission is to empower Haitians to grow their capacity to lead with integrity, to develop solutions to their own problems, and to help families live to their fullest potential. They are encouraging creativity, promoting gender equality, creating economic opportunity, and growing healthy communities.

I was very excited about this exfoliating soap because after experiencing a flare up of acne, one of my skincare Go Tos has been all natural soaps. It smells good and comes with a cute coffee bean bag that can be used for exfoliating your face and body. Love it! It is currently out of stock but you can click on the link above to be notified when they replenish.

Be sure to get a recap of this Fashion Week for a cause and all the other participants’ Bought Beautifully items. For following us on social media you will be entered to win a gift certificate to BB. Don’t miss out!
